COAST GUARD RESCUED TWO LADIES FROM DROWNING AT GOPALPURAM BEACH

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesaving Post, Gopalpuram beach saved two ladies during successful rescue attempts on 11th August 2022.

Two ladies, aged 21 and 22 years old, resident of the Anuradhapura area, were rescued by the Coast Guard at the Gopalpuram beach.

The swift responses by skilled lifesavers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for these drowning persons despite the heavy current prevailing in the area.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1735 invaluable lives including 751 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
