COAST GUARD ARRESTED A PERSON WITH NARCOTICS

Coast Guard personnel attached to the Coast Guard Station Beruwala has arrested a person who was in possession of Heroin in the Beruwala Fishery Harbour on 15^th August 2022.

At the time of the arrest, the Coast Guard personnel found 5g and 460mg of heroin in the suspect's possession. Based on the information received by the Coast Guard personnel, the 33-year-old suspect, a resident of the Payagala area, was arrested. The suspect is believed to be distributing drugs to fishermen in the area and a motorcycle used by the suspect for that purpose has also been apprehended. The arrested suspect and apprehended items were handed over to the Police Station, Beruwala for further investigations/ Legal action.
