COAST GUARD RESCUED A PERSON FROM DROWNING AT GOPALPURAM BEACH

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post, Gopalpuram beach saved a person during a successful rescue attempt on 22nd August 2022.

A 26 years old male, resident of Akurana area was rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Gopalpuram beach whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Gopalpuram beach.

The swift responses by skilled lifesavers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for the drowning person despite the heavy current prevailing in the area.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1738 invaluable lives including 751 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
