COAST GUARD RESCUED AN ITALIAN NATIONAL AT RISK OF DROWNING

The Life Savers attached to Coast Guard Lifesaving Post, Hikkaduwa rescued an Italian National, during a successful rescue attempt on 30^th August 2022. A 29 years old male from Italy was rescued whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Hikkaduwa beach.

The swift responses by skilled lifesavers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for a drowning foreigner despite the heavy current that prevailed in the area.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1740 invaluable lives including 752 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
