COAST GUARD RESCUED THREE CHILDREN FROM DROWNING AT MOUNT LAVINIA BEACH

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post, Mount Lavinia beach saved three children during successful rescue attempts on 18th September 2022.

A 09 years old boy and two girls (13 & 11 years), residents of the Mount Lavinia area were rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Mount Lavinia beach whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near beach.

The swift responses by skilled lifesavers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for these drowning children despite the heavy current prevailing in the area.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1749 invaluable lives including 752 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
