COAST GUARD LIFE SAVERS RESCUED FOUR FOREIGNERS AT RISK OF DROWNING

The Life Savers attached to Coast Guard Life Saving Post, Mirissa rescued four foreigners, during two successful rescue attempts on 19th September 2022. Two boys (10 & 07 years old) from France and a 34 years old male and 30 years old lady from the United Kingdom were rescued whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Mirissa beach.

The swift responses by skilled lifesavers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for drowning foreigners despite the heavy current prevailing in the area.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1753 invaluable lives including 756 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
