COAST GUARD ARRESTED A PERSON WITH NARCOTICS

Coast Guard personnel attached to the Coast Guard Station Beruwala arrested a person in possession of Kerala Cannabis onboard a Fishing Vessel at the Beruwala Fishery Harbour on 22^nd September 2022.

Based on the information the Coast Guard personnel received, a thorough search was carried out onboard the fishing vessel, which was ready to proceed for fishing. During the search, the Coast Guard personnel found 104g and 660mg of Kerala Cannabis concealed in the vegetable bag. After the investigation, a 38-year-old suspect resident of the Hikkaduwa area was arrested. The arrested suspect and apprehended items were handed over to the Police Station, Beruwala for further investigations/ Legal action.
