COAST GUARD RESCUED A LADY FROM DROWNING AT GOPALPURAM BEACH

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post, Gopalpuram beach saved a lady during a successful rescue attempt on 25th September 2022.

A 30 years old lady, resident of the Kahatagasdigiliya area was rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Gopalpuram beach whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Gopalpuram beach. A victim was transferred to Divisional Hospital Kuchchaweli by Suwa Seriya ambulance service to provide further medical care.

The swift responses by skilled lifesavers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for this drowning lady despite the heavy current prevailing in the area.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1754 invaluable lives including 756 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
