COAST GUARD RESCUED FOUR FOREIGNERS AT RISK OF DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Coast Guard Lifesaving Post, Mirissa rescued four foreigners, during a successful rescue attempt on 06th October 2022. Two males (30 & 29 years old) from Russia and another two males (34 & 30 years old) from Kazakhstan were rescued whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Mirissa beach.

The swift responses by skilled lifesavers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for drowning foreigners despite the heavy current prevailing in the area.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1759 invaluable lives including 760 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
