SRI LANKA COAST GUARD ARRESTED A PERSON WITH ILLEGALLY HARVESTED DOLPHIN FLESH

Sri Lanka Coast Guard personnel deployed at Beruwala fishery harbour for fishery monitoring and regulating duties arrested a person whilst attempting to transfer prohibited Dolphin flesh by a three wheeler on 13^th October 2022.

This arrest was made based on the information received by the Coast Guard personnel. During the investigation, Coast Guard personnel found Dolphin flesh (approx. 33 Kg) inside the three wheeler.

The arrested persons with apprehended items were handed over to the Fisheries inspector of Beruwala for onward legal actions.
