THE SLCG VESSEL BOARD SEARCH AND SEIZE COURSE (VBSS) AT ATC KIRINDA-2022

SLCG Advanced Training Centre (ATC) - Kirinda started the first Vessel Board Search and Seize Course for Sri Lanka Coast Guard, Sri Lanka Navy and foreign participant (Timor-Leste) at Kirinda. The 12 Sri Lanka Coast Guard personnel, 08 Sri Lanka Navy personnel and 08 Timor-Leste personnel were joined to the course. The training programme will be conducted as three phases, instructor course (07 days), VBSS advance course (12 days) and VBSS boarding officer course (04 days) by two instructors from UNODC at ATC Kirinda. Further, practical exposure will be given to trainees on board Sri Lanka Navy Fast Attack Craft’s simulate a VBSS platform at Hambanthota International Port (HIP) with assistance of Southern Naval Command/HIP.
