SRI LANKA COAST GUARD CONDUCTED WORKSHOP FOR “WORLD RE-START A HEART DAY”

Sri Lanka Coast Guard conducted a workshop in parallel to “World Re-Start a Heart Day” in collaboration with the Resuscitation Council of the Sri Lanka College of Anesthetist and Intensivist on16th October 2022 at Dikovita fishery harbour. The workshop was focused to educate personnel on how to practice chest compressions and use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED) machine for fatalities in need of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). More than 60 persons from Sri Lanka Coast Guard, staff of Dikovita fishery harbor and crew of fishing vessels at Dickowita participated for the event conducted by Consultant Anesthetist Dr. Mrs. Nilmini Wijesooriya and her team of medical officers. The workshop was successfully organized by Coast Guard Station Dickovita, under the directives of Director General of Sri Lanka Coast Guard with the valuable assistance of Hemas Surgicals and Diagnostics (Pvt) Ltd.
