SRI LANKA COAST GUARD RESCUED FIVE CHILDREN FROM DROWNING AT MT LAVINIA BEACH

The Life savers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard life saving post, Mt Lavinia beach saved five children during a successful rescue attempt on 16th October 2022.

A 16 and 17 years old five children, residents of the Piliyandala and Bandaragama area, were rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Mt Lavinia beach whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Mt Lavinia beach.

The swift responses by skilled life savers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for this drowning persons despite the heavy current prevailing in the area.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard life savers have rescued a total of 1768 invaluable lives including 760 foreigners.
