THAI AMBASSADOR CALLS ON DIRECTOR GENERAL OF SRI LANKA COAST GUARD

The cordial meeting that ensued after the Ambassador was welcomed by Rear Admiral Pujitha Vithana, Director General (oversee) of Sri Lanka Coast Guard, focused on reviewing shared priorities and opportunities for collaboration in the areas of maritime law enforcement, maritime safety and marine environment protection, etc.

The Director General SLCG explained the dedicated service of SLCG in combating IUU fishing, human smuggling anti-narcotic operations and oil spill response operations in the country with the available limited resources and the challenges faced in conducting such operations.

Towards the end of the friendly meeting, Director General SLCG presented a memento to the envoy as a token of goodwill and understanding.
