CONCLUSION OF THE FIRST-EVER SLCG ADVANCED VESSEL BOARD SEARCH AND SEIZER COURSE (VBSS) AT ATC KIRINDA-2022

The SLCG Advanced Training Centre (ATC) - Kirinda has concluded the first-ever Advanced Vessel Board Search and Seize Course with the partnership of UNODC. This in-person program was conducted for a total of 18 personnel including 06 SLCG personnel, 02 SLN personnel including 01 lady officer, 02 Timor-Leste women sailors and 06 Timor-Leste Navy personnel at Kirinda Advanced Training Centre. All participants have successfully completed the course from 24^th October 2022 to 27^th October 2022 at the Advanced Training Centre in Kirinda.

All theory classes were conducted at the ATC- Kirinda and practical boarding and searching exercises were conducted on-board on P410 and P421 (FACs) at HIP by two instructors of UNODC. This close partnership is a shared commitment to the enhancement of safety and security in coastal area of the Asia-Pacific region which focuses on evidence handling, casualty evacuation, underway boarding, trends in drug trafficking, global smuggling trends, boarding ladder techniques and offensive and defensive techniques.
