REAR ADMIRAL PUJITHA VITHANA ASSUMED DUTIES AS THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE SRI LANKA COAST GUARD

Rear Admiral Pujitha Vithana has been appointed as the 7th Director General of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard with effect from 17th October 2022 and assumes duties in his office on 29th October 2022 during a formal ceremony held at the Coast Guard Headquarters, Mirissa.

Observing the religious rituals, Rear Admiral Pujitha Vithana assumes his duties as new Director General with the participation of the Deputy Director General of the Coast Guard, Heads of Departments and Commanding Officer SLCG Rohana. The new Director General was accorded a guard of honour.

Rear Admiral Pujitha Vithana joined the Sri Lanka Navy as an Officer Cadet of the 18th Intake in 1988 and has an illustrious career spanning over 34 years. Prior to being appointed as the Director General of the Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Pujitha Vithana had been serving as the Deputy Director General of the Coast Guard.
