COAST GUARD RESCUED TWO FOREIGNERS AT RISK OF DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Coast Guard Lifesaving Post, Mirissa rescued two foreigners, during a successful rescue attempt on 29th October 2022. 23 years old male and 20 years old lady from Russia were rescued whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Mirissa beach.

The swift response by skilled lifesavers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for drowning foreigners despite the heavy current prevailing in the area.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1770 invaluable lives including 762 foreigners in number of successful rescue attempts.
