COAST GUARD RESCUED TWO MALES FROM DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post, Mt Lavinia beach saved two males during a successful rescue attempt on 30th October 2022.

A 23 years old male, a resident of the Tangalle and 21 years old male, a resident of the Puhulwella area were rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Mt Lavinia beach whilst drowning and dragging away by currents.

The swift response by skilled lifesavers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for these drowning persons despite the heavy current prevailing in the area.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1772 invaluable lives including 762 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
