SRI LANKA COAST GUARD CONDUCTED A SPECIAL PATROL OFF KIRINDA WITH DEPARTMENT OF FISHERIES AND AQUATIC RESOURCES

Sri Lanka Coast Guard personnel deployed at Coast Guard Station Kirinda conducted a special patrol to arrest fishermen engage in illegal fishing activities in the seas off Amaduwa to Godawaya in coordination with the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources on 31^st October 2022. Accordingly, three Fishery Inspectors from Hambanthota together with Coast Guard personnel have apprehended 30 Nos of Gill Nets Bottom Survey, 01 No Nylon Net and 11 Nos of Lobsters during the special patrol.

The apprehended items were handed over to the Fisher Inspector, Hambanthota for onward legal actions.
