LIFESAVING JOINT TRAINING COURSE

Another lifeguard intermediate level course successfully concluded on 02nd November 2022 at Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Training School at Balapitiya. There were Thirty-four Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) and Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) personnel qualified in the intermediate-level lifesaving course on completion of a comprehensive assessment of aquatic emergency skills.

The training commenced on 21st October 2022 and participants have been given more realistic training exposure in the surf on different rescue techniques by using different rescue equipment.

To improve the quality of training candidates were given the opportunity to participate in CPR training conducted by the Nursing Training School (NTS) and CPR AED training conducted by expertise from the National Resuscitation Council of Sir Lanka which was led by Dr. Nilmini Wijesuriya (Consultant Anesthesiologist). SLCG will continue training to improve water safety consciousness among service personnel at LSTS Balapitiya in the future as per the directives of the Director General SLCG.
