DEPUTY HEAD OF MISSION OF EMBASSY OF FRANCE PAID A COURTESY CALL ON THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF SRI LANKA COAST GUARD

The Director General-Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) Rear Admiral Pujitha Vithana welcomed the Deputy Head of Mission of Embassy of France Mr. Aurelien Maillet at the Coast Guard Rear Headquarters, Wellawatte on 04^th November 2022.

Director General SLCG explained the commitment of SLCG to deter human smuggling, counter-narcotic operations and IUU fishing in the country and the challenges faced in conducting such operations. Further, he emphasised the intention to work closely with the Embassy of France and to enhance the exchange of information on matters of bilateral importance.

Technical Military Cooperating Officer of the Embassy of France Mr. Jean-Baptiste Trouche was also present during the courtesy visit. They expressed the possibilities for extending training and capacity building for the enhancement of inter-agency cooperation and interaction. The cordial meeting culminated with an exchange of mementoes.
