SRI LANKA COAST GUARD APPREHENDED 458.9KGS OF KERALA CANNABIS IN NORTHERN SEAS

At midnight on November 9th, CG 402 apprehended a fiberglass dinghy and two suspects carrying 18 wet sacks (458.9 kg) presumed to be Kerala cannabis. CG 402 was on routine patrol in close proximity to the south of Delft Island. The initial detection done by the SLNS Wasaba RADAR and the officer in command of the Coast Guard craft initiated actions to avoid making off the suspected boat. Two suspects with the boat, and drugs were arrested and transferred to SLNS Wasaba for further investigation and legal proceedings.
