LIEUTENANT COMMANDER (ASW) M SALINDA ASSUMED COMMAND OF THE SRI LANKA COAST GUARD SHIP SAMUDRARAKSHA

Lieutenant Commander (ASW) Salinda Malawisooriya assumed duties as the 6th Commanding Officer of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard Ship Samudraraksha on 12th November 2022, which is one of two oil spill capable ships of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard.

The Director Operations Captain (G) UPK Vithanage RSP & Bar, MSc DRRD (Merit) BSc (DS) MTS, Dip in Com. Prog, MIM (SL) graced the Change of Command Ceremony. The former Commanding Officer of the ship Lieutenant Commander (ASW) Thanuja Horagampita formally handed over the duties to his successor after a colourful ceremony held at SLNS Dakshina, Galle harbour. The proceedings of the ceremony came to closure after an inspection of divisions by the new Commanding Officer.
