COAST GUARD RESCUED A COUPLE FROM DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post, Mirissa beach saved a couple during a successful rescue attempt on 13th November 2022.

A Russian national couple, 38-year-old male and 36 years old female were rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Mirissa lifesaving post whilst drowning and dragged away by currents.

The expeditious response by skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers managed to bring back hope for this drowning couple despite the heavy current experience in the area.

Up to now, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1775 invaluable lives including 764 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
