SRI LANKA COAST GUARD ARRESTED SIX FISHERMEN WITH ILLEGALLY HARVESTED DOLPHIN FLESH

Sri Lanka Coast Guard personnel deployed at Beruwala Fishery Harbour combined with intelligence staff arrested 06 fishermen along with illegally harvested Dolphin flesh (Around 200 kg) while carrying out arrival inspections on 16^th November 2022. During the inspection, illegal harvest was found inside the fishing tank of a multiday fishing trawler.

The arrested persons with apprehended items were handed over to the Department of Wildlife Conservation Marine Department Office, Hikkaduwa for further legal action.
