COAST GUARD RESCUED A LOCAL FROM DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post Mirissa beach saved a local during a successful rescue attempt on 09th December 2022.

A 25 years old male, resident of the Negombo area was rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Mirissa beach whilst drowning and dragging away by currents.

The swift responses by skilled lifesavers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for this drowning young male despite the heavy current prevailing in the area.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1784 invaluable lives including 765 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
