COAST GUARD RESCUED TWO FOREIGNERS FROM DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post Hikkaduwa beach saved two foreigners during a successful rescue attempt on 12th December 2022.

Two Russian males 60 years and 54 years old were rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Hikkaduwa beach whilst drowning and dragged away by currents.

The swift response by skilled Sri Lank Coast Guard lifesavers managed to save these two lives despite the heavy current in the area.

Up to now, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 770 lives of foreigners including 1020 locals in several successful rescue attempts.
