COAST GUARD RESCUED AN INDIAN NATIONAL AT RISK OF DROWNING

The Life Savers attached to Coast Guard Lifesaving Post, Mirissa rescued an Indian National, during a successful rescue attempt on 17th December 2022. A 25 years old male from India was rescued whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Mirissa beach.

The swift responses by skilled lifesavers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for a drowning foreigner despite the heavy current that prevailed in the area.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1791 invaluable lives including 771 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts
