COAST GUARD RESCUED TWO FOREIGNERS AT RISK OF DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Coast Guard Lifesaving Posts, Mirissa and Hikkaduwa rescued two foreigners, during two successful rescue attempts on 17th December 2022.

A 35 years old Russian national was rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Mirissa beach and another 52 years old Russian national was rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Hikkaduwa beach whilst drowning and dragging away by currents.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1793 invaluable lives including 773 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
