COAST GUARD RESCUED A FOREIGNER FROM DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post Mirissa beach saved a foreigner during a successful rescue attempt on 24th December 2022.

35 years old Russian male was rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Mirissa beach whilst drowning and dragged away by currents.

The swift response by skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers managed to save this foreigner’s life despite the heavy current in the area.

Up to now, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 776 lives of foreigners including 1023 locals in several successful rescue operations.
