COAST GUARD RESCUED A LOCAL FROM DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post Mirissa beach saved a local during a successful rescue attempt on 27th December 2022.

An 18-year-old female was rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at lifesaving post Mirissa whilst drowning at sea.

The swift response by skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers managed to save this female despite the heavy current in the area.

Up to now, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1802 invaluable lives including 778 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts around the country.
