COAST GUARD ARRESTED A PERSON WITH NARCOTICS

Sri Lanka Coast Guard personnel attached to the Coast Guard Base Mirissa arrested a female in possession of Heroin on 27^th December 2022 in the Gandara area in a combined operation with the Narcotic Prevention Unit of Kotawila Police. At the time of the arrest, the Coast Guard personnel found 126g 678mg of heroin in the suspect's possession.

The arrest was done based on information provided by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard personnel and the arrested female with apprehended items was handed over to the Narcotic Prevention Unit of Kotawila Police for further investigation and onward legal actions.
