COAST GUARD RESCUED A LOCAL AND A FOREIGNER FROM DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post Mirissa beach saved a local and a foreigner during a successful rescue attempt on 28th December 2022.

A 17-year-old male teenager and 43 years old Russian male were rescued by Coast Guard rescuers attached to lifesaving post Mirissa whilst drowning at sea.

The swift response by skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers managed to save these two lives despite the heavy current in the area.

Up to now, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1804 invaluable lives including 779 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts around the country.
