SRI LANKA COAST GUARD COMMENCED THE FIRST WORKING DAY OF 2023 WITH THE PUBLIC SERVANTS’ OATH

A ceremony to mark the commencement of the first working day in the New Year 2023 and reading the Oath of Public Servants was held under the auspices of the Director General of Sri Lanka Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Pujitha Vithana at the Coast Guard Headquarters, Mirissa on 02nd January 2023.

On completion of the observing two minutes of silence to commemorate the war heroes and others who sacrificed their invaluable lives on behalf of the motherland, the brief ceremony began. Subsequently, the coastguard personnel pledged their commitment to perform each and every way the duties entrusted to them efficiently, productively, with firm determination, and utmost dedication, honesty, and loyalty to the public to create a disciplined, law-abiding and healthy society under the vision of Vistas of prosperity and splendor to create a well-secured future for the Sri Lankans and future generation.

Addressing a cross-section of coastguardsmen on this occasion, the Director General at the outset extended greetings for a happy, prosperous, and healthy New Year 2023 for all the coastguardsmen and their families. Further, he emphasized the achievements that the Coast Guard made during the year 2022 and emphasized the need for continuation with more spirit of confidence in the year 2023 as well.

Finally, he expressed that requirement of the committed contribution of the coastguardsmen to achieve the targets and unique priorities in the policy statement of the government in order to overcome the prevailing economic crisis and create a productive citizen, happy family, disciplined, fair, and Blue/Green country.
