COAST GUARD CONDUCTED A LOCAL CANNABIS RAID

Sri Lanka Coast Guard intelligence personnel attached to the Coast Guard Station Kirinda conducted a local cannabis raid in the Lunugamwehera and Indipitiya areas with the assistance of the Sri Lanka Police Narcotic Bureau staff of Embilipitiya police on 04^th January 2023.

Coast guard intelligence personnel along with police narcotic staff seized approximately 25000 cannabis plants cultivated across a 1.5-acre area.

The samples were handed over to police station Katharagama for further investigation and the remaining were destroyed by burning. No suspects were found during the raid.
