COAST GUARD RESCUED A FOREIGNER FROM RISK OF DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post Balapitiya public beach saved a foreigner during a successful rescue attempt on 10th January 2023.

A 32-year-old Russian female was rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at lifesaving post Balapitiya whilst at risk of drowning at sea.

The swift response by skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers managed to bring back hope for the drowning foreign lady despite the heavy current in the area.

To date, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued a total of 1811 invaluable lives including 781 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
