COAST GUARD RESCUED TWO FOREIGNERS FROM RISK OF DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post Mirissa public beach saved two foreigners during a successful rescue attempt on 26th January 2023.

Two Russian females (A 26-years and 24 years old) were rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at lifesaving post Mirissa beach whilst at risk of drowning at sea. The swift response by skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers managed to save these two Russian females, from drowning despite the heavy current in the area.

So far in the year 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued a total of 12 invaluable lives including 07 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
