COAST GUARD RESCUED A LOCAL FROM DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post Gopalapuram public beach saved a local during a successful rescue attempt on 28^th January 2023.

A 54-year-old male was rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at lifesaving post Gopalapuram beach whilst at risk of drowning at sea. The swift response by skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers managed to save this person from drowning despite the heavy current in the area.

So far in the year 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued a total of 13 invaluable lives including 07 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
