COAST GUARD RESCUED TWO LOCALS FROM DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post Mirissa beach saved two locals during a successful rescue attempt on 13th February 2023.

A 62-year-old male and 55 years old female were rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at the lifesaving post at Mirissa public beach whilst drowning and dragging away by currents.

The swift response by skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers managed to save these two locals despite the sudden currents forming in the area.

So far in 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued a total of 23 invaluable lives including 11 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
