COMPLETION OF THE BASIC SEAMANSHIP COURSE CONDUCTED BY THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICE ON DRUGS AND CRIMES (UNODC) AT ADVANCED TRAINING CENTRE (ATC) KIRINDA

Four Coast Guard personnel have successfully completed basic seamanship training conducted by UNODC at the ATC Kirinda. The course curriculum included Fundamental seamanship, Stability of the craft, Safety aspects, Boat manoeuvring and RHIB handling techniques. Mr Stuart Melville, UNODC’s Chief Instructor of the Global Maritime Crime Programme (GMCP) has facilitated the training as a resource person. The course was terminated on 17th February 2023 and all course participants have received course certificates from the Chief Instructor of UNODC’s GMCP and Officer in Command of the ATC, LCdr Prashan Perera.
