COAST GUARD RESCUED A FOREIGNER FROM RISK OF DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post Balapitiya public beach saved a foreigner during a successful rescue operation on 22nd February 2023.

While drowning at sea, a 75-year-old Austrian female was rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at the lifesaving post Balapitiya public beach. The expeditious response by skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers managed to save this foreign female from drowning despite the heavy current in the area.

So far in 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 33 invaluable lives including 12 foreigners in several successful rescue attempts.
