COAST GUARD RESCUED THREE LOCALS FROM DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Posts Benthota and Gopalapuram public beaches saved three locals during a successful rescue attempt on 05th March 2023.

Two males aged 38 and 23 years along with a 14-year-old male teenager were rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at the lifesaving posts at Benthota and Gopalapuram public beaches whilst drowning and dragging away by currents.

The swift response by skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers managed to save these three locals despite the sudden currents forming in the area.

So far in 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 44 invaluable lives including 12 foreigners in several successful rescue attempts.
