COAST GUARD RESCUED TWO FOREIGNERS FROM DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Posts Benthota and Hikkaduwa public beaches saved two foreigners during a successful rescue attempt on 07th March 2023.

A 61-year-old British and 63 years old Russian males were rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at the lifesaving posts at Benthota and Hikkaduwa public beaches whilst drowning and dragging away by currents.

The swift response by skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers managed to save these two foreigners despite the sudden currents forming in the areas.

So far in 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 46 invaluable lives including 14 foreigners in several successful rescue attempts.
