COAST GUARD RESCUED A LOCAL FROM DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post Mirissa public beach saved a local during a successful rescue attempt on 09th March 2023.

A 24-year-old male was rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at the lifesaving post Mirissa public beach whilst drowning and dragging away by currents.

The swift response by skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers managed to save this local male despite the sudden currents forming in the area.

So far in 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 47 invaluable lives including 14 foreigners in several successful rescue attempts.
