INDIVIDUALS WERE RESCUED FROM DROWNING BY THE SRI LANKA COAST GUARD

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Posts at Mirissa beach and Panadura beach could save (02) two Russians and (04) four Sri Lankan respectively during successful two rescue attempts on 25^th March 2023 while they were drowning and dragged away by the currents.

Despite the rapid currents in the above areas, the Sri Lanka Coast Guard's skilled lifesavers were able to save (06) six valuable lives with their prompt response.

So far in 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued a total of 54 precious lives including 17 locals and 37 foreigners in several successful rescue attempts along the coastal belt.
