COAST GUARD RESCUED A FOREIGNER FROM DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post Mirissa public beach saved a foreigner during a successful rescue attempt on 28th March 2023.

At the Mirissa public beach, a 67-year-old Danish male who was at risk of drowning and being pulled away by currents was rescued by the Coast Guard rescuers stationed at the lifesaving post.

Despite the sudden formation of strong currents in the area, the skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers were able to provide a swift response and successfully save the foreigner's life.

So far in 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 55 invaluable lives including 18 foreigners in several successful rescue attempts.
