COAST GUARD RESCUED FOREIGNERS FROM DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post Benthota public beach saved three foreigners during a successful rescue attempt on 29th< March 2023.

At the Benthota public beach, a 33-year-old Indian male and Georgian couple (aged 43 and 35) years old who were at risk of drowning and being pulled away by currents were rescued by the Coast Guard rescuers stationed at the lifesaving post.

Despite the sudden formation of strong currents in the area, the skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers were able to provide a swift response and successfully save the foreigner's life.

So far in 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 58 invaluable lives including 21 foreigners in several successful rescue attempts.
