COAST GUARD RESCUED A FOREIGNER FROM DROWNING

On March 30th, 2023, a foreign individual was rescued by the Lifesavers stationed at the Hikkaduwa public beach Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post in a successful rescue operation.

At the Mirissa public beach, a 58-year-old Russian male who was at risk of drowning and being pulled away by currents was rescued by the Coast Guard rescuers stationed at the lifesaving post.

Despite the sudden formation of strong currents in the area, the skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers were able to provide a swift response and successfully save the foreigner's life.

So far in 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 59 invaluable lives including 22 foreigners in several successful rescue attempts.
