TWO FOREIGNERS WERE RESCUED FROM DROWNING BY THE COAST GUARD

On 17th April 2023, two 25-year-old Russian females were saved from drowning and being carried away by currents at Mirissa public beach by the Lifeguards attached to the Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving post. The prompt and skilled actions of the SLCG rescuers, who were stationed at the lifesaving post, resulted in the successful rescue of the victims despite unexpected currents in the area.

In the year 2023, the SLCG Lifeguards at 16 different life-saving posts around the country have saved a total of 83 lives, including 38 foreigners, in various rescue operations.
