CAPTAIN (ND) RARMUB RAJAKARUNA ASSUMED COMMAND OF THE SRI LANKA COAST GUARD SHIP SURAKSHA

Captain (ND) Upendra Rajakaruna assumed duties as Commanding Officer of SLCGS Suraksha, the flag ship of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard on 10^th May 2023.

The Change of Command Ceremony was graced by the Director General of Sri Lanka Coast Guard Rear Admiral Pujitha Vithana. The former Commanding Officer of the ship Captain (G) Lasantha Vithanage formally handed over the duties to his successor after a brief colourful ceremony at Inner Yard Jetty, Trincomalee harbour.

The proceeding of the event came to closure after an inspection of divisions by the new Commanding Officer. Captain (G) Lasantha Vithanage was appointed as the Acting Director of Naval Internal Audit at Naval Headquarters.
